Ensuring Honesty of Polticians! Maybe.

A method to ensure that manifesto pledges are followed through and/or to ensure that politicians don’t make pledges they can’t follow through with is for the oath of Office to include an affirmation that the manifesto pledges were done "under penalty of perjury".  This will be more effective when there is not a coalition, because in a coalition the PM or MP’s can blame the coalition partner for a proposed bill not becoming law;  but when the PM has the majority party, they can’t blame anyone else (other than back-benchers of their own party).  This way, when there is a possibility of criminal prosecution for a false oath, perhaps there can be more honesty amongst politicians.  Hopefully.
