Exclusive Jurisdiction on Citizenship and Naturalization

This proposal is an addendum to a prior proposal of stripping British citizens of their citizenship when certain crimes are committed.

This present proposal adds language that:  “Parliament shall have exclusive authority regarding citizenship, immigration, and the naturalization process.  Parliament shall also have exclusive authority on stripping British citizens of their citizenship if certain crimes to be specified by Parliament are committed.”

This addendum removes the detail as to the circumstances to strip the citizenship because the specifics previously provided border on policy (as opposed to a general principle required in a Constitution).  Also, by proclaiming exclusive jurisdiction, it theoretically removes any potential conflicts with Europe on this issue, although the ECHR may feel otherwise.
