Fundamental rights, a social charter and a subsidiarity principle

A new UK constitution should include a series of fundamental rights, mimicking the US Bill of Rights or the European Convention on Human Rights (it should be compatible with the latter). It should also include rights compatible with the International Convenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, resembling closely the European Social Charter.

These rights then should be justiciable, of course, and actively communicated and promoted, particularly amongst employers and in schools.

The new UK constitution should also include a subsidiarity principle, such as that enshrined in the Treaty on European Union.
